...of course, if they don't want to make the avatar, they don't have to. It's really a lame prize, so don't if you feel like not doing it.

I loved this piece the moment I read it. Why? It's simple, yet stunning. It accurately portrays Dan's feelings and ponderings in the third chapter. I loved the imperfect rhyme scheme (NOTE: "Imperfect" rhymes is a literary term for words that sound similar but are not identical, but can still be used for rhymes. IE the words moat and boat are "perfect" rhymes, while the words sound and down are "imperfect" rhymes. It's a term, not an insult.) Anyways, yeah, I loved his imperfect rhymes, which gave the piece a lyrical beat while still sounding like speech. Probably my favorite part of the piece was the shift of Dan's focus to Missy at the end, where he ponders her fate, ironically comparing her to his Eevee...which, of course, you all as readers are aware she actually is. As a literary nerd and as the author of Storm Clouds, that little gem gave be a big huge grin.
This is a well-written, fun poem that pays respect to the source material and also uses literary techniques to a wonderful scale. I applaud rpgaddict-928. Congratulations! You won!!
And with that, the contest is over. Everyone who participated, I hope you had fun, and to those who didn't place, don't feel bad! I loved every piece the moment I saw them.
I hope to update in a few days! That'll complete the good news for now!
