So now, here it goes! The work of fiction journal tag of DOOM.

Question: What is your favorite movie?
Answer: The Prestige.

Question: What year was this movie made available in your country/language/area?
Answer: 2006.

Question: Name either the director or the producer of the movie.
Answer: Christopher Nolan.

Question: Who is the movie's protagonist? (Note that there is a difference between "protagonist" and "hero")
Answer: Robert Angier.

Question: Who is the movie's antagonist? (Note that there is a difference between "antagonist" and "villain")
Answer: Alfred Bolden/Robert Angier himself (it depends on your point of veiw).

Question: Without giving away any plot points, please briefly summarize the movie.
Answer: Robert Angier and Alfred Bolden are rival stage magicians in London in the late 1800s. In an attempt to out-do each other and perfect their magic acts, the two magicians plunge into a circle of blackmail, deception, and murder that leads them to test the limits of nature's laws, as well as their own humanity.

Question: Why do you like the movie so much?
Answer: Well, there's some really stellar acting involved by Hugh Jackman (Angier) and Christian Bale (Bolden). I really like how the two characters start out as simple victims of circumstance and evolve into complex, dark specimens of humankind. The plot twists near the end are insane and the ending is haunting.

Question: What is your favorite book/novel?
Answer: Watership Down.

Question: What year was this novel made available in your county/language/area?
Answer: ...crap. Um, sometime in the 70s? Well before I was born, anyways.

Question: Who is the book's author?
Answer: Richard Adams.

Question: Who is the book's protagonist? (Note that there is a difference between "protagonist" and "hero")
Answer: Hazel-rah.

Question: Who is the book's antagonist? (Note that there is a difference between "antagonist" and "villain")
Answer: General Woundwort.

Question: Without giving away any plot points, please briefly summarize the novel.
Answer: When a group of rabbits leave their soon-to-be destroyed warren to found a new one, they embark on an adventure that ultimately leads them to a pitched war against a totalitarian warren state run by an insane and brutal dictator.

Question: Why do you like the book so much?
Answer: It is superbly written, with good characterization. What's really fun is the dive into rabbit folklore, with several chapters devoted to 'El-ahrairah', the rabbit hero. The book has a fluid, engaging plot, and the ending is the sort where you close the cover, set the book down, lean back, and go "Whoa." It's that awesome.

Question: What is your favorite video game?
Answer: Okami.

Question: What year was this video game made available in your country/language/area?
Answer: 2006.

Question: Name the company that produced the game.
Answer: Capcom.

Question: Who is the game's protagonist? (Note that there is a difference between "protagonist" and "hero")
Answer: Amaterasu.

Question: Who is the game's antagonist? (Note that there is a difference between "antagonist" and "villain")
Answer: Um, there's not really any --one-- singluar antagonist, so...the forces of darkness?

Question: Without giving away any plot points, please briefly summarize the game.
Answer: When the dark dragon Orochi is resurrected 100 years after his death, Amaterasu returns to the world bound in wolf form to defeat Orochi and a horde of other demons in a quest to save the world from darkness.

Question: Why do you like the video game so much?
Answer: It's a work of art. One of the best video game plots ever, gorgeos graphics, amazing landscapes, dungeons and puzzles, and the whole game has just this moody theme to it. The ending makes me get all teary-eyed.

Final Question: Now that you've described your favorites out of three storytelling forms, look back and tell us what makes a great work of fiction.
Answer: Ok, well, in all my faves, I mention the ending. A good plot is what I look for, and without a powerful ending, the plot really just sort of putters out. So, I think to me, the ending is the most important part of any work of fiction.

Now tag somebody.
Ok, I tag...
